Volunteer
Al Marmoom Intiative relies on its volunteers to enable us to reach as many students as possible, we are always looking for committed individuals to assist in our operation. You can donate a little as an hour a week.
For those who are unable to commit to weekly lessons there are also options to assist on monthly basis or in open days.
You do not need to have experience with horses/greenhouses or individuals with Special needs, just the commitment to our cause. Our minimum age for volunteers is 15 years and over, before you take part in the Students’ sessions, you must complete one of our training courses which covers a number of subjects including all aspects of health and safety.
Corporate and Student Volunteering
If you would like to get your work place, College or University involved at Al Marmoom, we frequently welcome groups of volunteers from all over the UAE. We can cater for small groups and always need help with lessons, cleaning, maintenance, greenhouse farming and where possible. For more info please contact info@marmoom.net.
Volunteer Payback Scheme
Here at the Al Marmoom Initiative, we want to ensure that our volunteers are well trained, well informed and well appreciated! We are able to offer a ‘Pay-back scheme’ which involves Horsemanship and riding lessons for volunteers.
For every 8 vouchers (1 voucher equals 1 hour volunteered) you collect – you can gain a session with our coach who will work with you to improve your skills and knowledge in a specially designed progressive program.
We are on the lookout for people to participate in the following activities;
Riding lessons, side supporters and leaders
Assisting and running stable management lessons.
Daily maintenance and upkeep of horses/stables.
FAQs
When do you need volunteers?
We need people 5 days a week throughout the day. Our season is Oct – End of May.
What if I have no experience with Special needs individuals or horses?
It’s not necessary to have experience with either. All our volunteers need is confidence, commitment and plenty of smiles.
Do volunteers need any special clothes or equipment?
No, the only items you will need are a pair of closed shoes; ideally sneakers.
What is the minimum age for volunteers?
15 years is the minimum age for our volunteers.
